Administrative Personnel

Meet the administrative staff that works all year long making Beth Tfiloh Camps a great place for kids to grow.

David Schimmel, MSW, Director
David Schimmel
David Schimmel, the Beth Tfiloh Camps Director, has spent nearly two decades working for the Baltimore Jewish Community. Camp has always been an integral part of David's life-- he served as the Assistant Camp Director at Camp Milldale for three summers, and worked in resident camp settings as well.

David's camp philosophy is simple: Hire the best camp professionals, communicate with parents constantly and provide a quality program that encourages campers to make new friends, learn different skills and experience personal growth.

David and his wife Laurie, whom he met at Milldale, live in Reisterstown, Maryland with their daughter Allison and son Jacob - both of whom are proud BT campers!

Sara Levine, MSW, Assistant Director
Steve Eller
Sara Levine has been associated with Beth Tfiloh Camps since 1988. She serves as the Assistant Director, a year-round position. Sara enjoys working with camper families as well as with the camp's 200+ member staff.

Before coming to Beth Tfiloh, Sara was employed as a social worker in Baltimore and in Massachusetts.

Sara and her husband Marshall are members of Beth Tfiloh Congregation. Their children Emily and Doug are both graduates of Beth Tfiloh Community School, and spent many happy summers as BT campers and staff.

Ryan M. Cohen, Director of Operations
Ryan M. Cohen
Ryan has been at camp for so many consecutive years we've lost count, but this is his 13th as a staff member. Ryan is a full-time, year-round employee and is a Member at Large for the American Camp Association Chesapeake section board. He does many things at camp like coordinating transportation, logistics, camp operations, and handling "all things technical". Any resemblance to cookie monster is purely coincidental.
