Beth Tfiloh Camps offers a variety of traditional and specialized comprehensive summer day camp programs. Although they benefit from sharing major facilities and instructional staff, each is distinct with separate activities geared specifically to an age group.

morning and afternoon extended day
For full-day campers or Nursery Campers only. Extended Day options are not available for Kinder Campers.
For full-day camp parents who want an earlier morning drop-off, later afternoon pick-up, or a combination of both, we offer two Extended Day options. Both Early Drop-Off and Late Pick-Up Extended Day programs are conducted at Beth Tfiloh Camps on Delight Meadows Road. Supervised by camp staff, early drop-off hours are 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and late pick-up hours are 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
 
For Nursery Camp parents who want a later afternoon pick-up, we offer an Extended Day Late Pick-up option from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This extended day program is conducted at Beth Tfiloh School on Old Court Road, the same location where Nursery Camp takes place.

Nursery Camp
For campers who are 2 or 3 years old by the first day of camp. Beth Tfiloh Camps runs this program out of Beth Tfiloh School on Old Court Road.

Register for 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 weeks. Choose 3-days a week meeting on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9 a.m. to noon or come 5 days a week from either 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No transportation is available.

Dressing up for a playEnrichment activities include water play, story time, arts and crafts, outdoor play, nature and discovery, music, physical education, and Friday Kabbalat Shabbat. Children are placed in small groups and separated by age. The Nursery Camp has its own on-site Director, and each group is staffed with experienced teachers. The campers use Beth Tfiloh's state-of-the-art preschool facilities including gymnasium and enclosed playground. The 2-year-old program is under the supervision of the Beth Tfiloh Community School.

campers age 4 through entering Kindergarten
Kinder Camp
Part-day for campers who are 4 years old by October 31, 2010 or entering kindergarten in September, 2010. Centralized bus stops included where available. The full day program for children of this age is called Day Camp and is described below.

Meets daily from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. with 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 week options.

Campers receive daily swim lessons by Red Cross certified Water Safety InstructorsKinder Camp introduces all the fun and experiences of the "big kid's summer camp" with an abbreviated day for those who are not quite ready for a full day experience. Kinder Campers swim once daily, with half of the time devoted to swim lessons and half to recreational swim. Supervision for each camper group is provided by an adult head counselor who is a teacher, and an assistant. The Kinder Camp staff also supervise on the buses which, to minimize riding time, is to and from centralized stops only. There is no Kinder Camp transportation serving Howard or Carroll Counties.
 
Day Camp
Full-day for campers who are 4 years old by October 31, 2010 or entering kindergarten in September, 2010. Door-to-door bus service included where available.

Meets daily from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 week options.

Browse to our activities page to see all the fun activities we offer.Day Campers participate in a wide variety of age-appropriate activities including two swim periods daily, one dedicated to instruction and one just for fun. Other activities include sports, arts and crafts, boating, singing, dance, drama, nature, and Tarbut (Jewish culture). The Day Camp program is divided into separate units for different ages, so campers are bunked together with and spend the day with their peer group. Each bunk is supervised by an adult head counselor who is a teacher, and an assistant. Every activity is led by certified instructors and their aides. Day Camp
Full-day for campers entering grades 1 through 4. Door-to-door bus service included where available.

Meets daily from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 week options.

During Nature, campers can walk along Red Run Stream located on our over 50 acres.Day Campers participate in a wide variety of age-appropriate activities including two swim periods daily, one dedicated to instruction and one just for fun. Other activities include sports, arts and crafts, boating, singing, dance, drama, nature, and Tarbut (Jewish culture).

Second graders enjoy a late stay with cookout and campfire.

Third and fourth graders have all of the above activities plus they are introduced to campcraft, challenge course with zipline, and ropes towers.

Fourth graders participate in archery and marksmanship and have weekly elective clubs where children choose their activities.

Sports Camp
Full-day for campers entering grades 3 and 4. Door-to-door bus service included where available.

Meets daily from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 week options.

Sports camp offers a serious focus on sports.Sports Camp is designed with a specific concentration each week, devoted to football, baseball, soccer, and lacrosse. The first four weeks of camp will each feature one of these sports, and the second four weeks will repeat this design. Coaches will work with the Sports Campers on skill development and game rules and strategies. In addition, each week will feature visits from a professional player from the sport being taught, who will work with the campers and sign autographs. Sports Campers will receive instructional and recreational swim each day, and enjoy sports-related trips.

Plaster, ceramics, and copper enameling are perennial favorite activities in art.Arts Camp gives campers the opportunity to participate in a variety of creative art activities each day, such as painting, copper enameling, modeling, ceramics, jewelry-making, leather craft, sketching, weaving, and more. Spending three periods a day in the art studio allows campers to complete complex projects under the supervision of certified art teachers. Arts Camp campers also enjoy recreational and instructional swim, as well as field trips to arts-related venues.

Senior Camp
Meet daily from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 week options. Includes transportation where available.

Learn how to canoe on our boat lake.Senior campers enjoy a structured, well-rounded mix of all activities and special events offered at camp, including two daily swims - one instructional, one recreational, and an elective club. Programming includes late stays and off-site field trips.
 
Sports Camp

Adventure Camp
Meet daily from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 week options.

Adventure Camp campers explore the great outdoors in a noncompetitive atmosphere, concentrating on campcraft skills such as ropes and knots, outdoor cooking, map and compass, and nature study including plants, animal care, stream and pond life. They develop confidence on our challenge course and ropes towers, and also enjoy recreational and instructional swim. Campers entering grades 5 and 6 will use their new skills on their two overnight camp-outs at camp. Those entering grades 7 and 8 will have a three-day, two-night out-of-camp experience during weeks three and seven. They will travel to a state park in a neighboring state, set up a campsite and take part in activities such as kayaking, climbing, hiking, and using their outdoor living skills.

Campers entering grades 7 and 8 must attend Adventure Camp for at least one week prior to participating in an out-of-camp trip. For example, to attend the week 3 out-of-camp-trip, a camper must attend Adventure Camp either week 1, week 2 or both.

Climbing one of our three towers that are part of our expansive challenge course, this camper is nearly 50 feet off the ground.On an out-of-camp trip, campers slide down a natural rock water slide.
 
 
Travel Camp
There are two Travel Camp sessions. Session 1 is camp weeks 1 and 2, session 2 is camp weeks 5 and 6. A camper must enroll for an entire Travel Camp session. Campers may enroll in both Travel Camp sessions.

Travel Camp is a great new opportunity for your camper entering grades 5 through 8. Campers spend Monday through Thursday on daily field trips visiting cool places, including baseball games, amusement parks, water parks and much, much more! During the 2nd week of each travel session, campers will participate in an overnight experience at a JCC in a neighboring state. On Fridays campers will spend the day at Beth Tfiloh Camps so they can still be part of our fantastic Friday activities and Shabbat experience. Session 1 trips will include a Day in D.C., the Red Zone, Oriole's home game, Hershey Park and an overnight trip to visit the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Session 2 trips will include Adventure Park, Cunningham Falls, and an overnight trip to Virginia to visit Kings Dominion.

Leadership Training
Meets daily from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 weeks. Campers must register in blocks of two consecutive weeks, with a minimum of four weeks and are encouraged to attend for all 8 weeks to get the most benefit from the program. Includes transportation where available.

Too old for camp, but too young to work? The L.T. program balances responsibility and learning with time for fun. L.T.s learn about child development, non-competitive play, and disciplinary strategies, and then gain real work experience as they assist counselors and instructors with their camper groups. L.T.s become positive role models for younger campers, and acquire self-confidence and leadership skills2. Community Service credit is available.

1 Sports availability based on emrollment. Professional sports figures from the sport offered each week may not be available during that week. All professional sports players availability are subject to change. We will make every effort to notify campers and parents of changes.
2 While we do thoroughly teach leadership skills, enrollment in the Leadership Training Program for any amount of time does not guarantee employment at Beth Tfiloh Camps at the conclusion of the program, or at anytime thereafter.
